Our Major Funders
National Lottery Heritage Fund
The National Lottery Heritage Fund has awarded a grant of £2.2m which will cover the first two years operating costs as well as a major contribution to renovation work on the building.
Penzance Town Deal
Penzance Town Deal funding will enable capital building work on renovation of the old stable block in Morrab Gardens. The Gardeners’ House is among seven projects in Penzance supported by the Government’s Town Deal Fund.
The Gardeners’ House received £2.2 million from The National Lottery Heritage Fund and £896,000 from the Penzance Town Deal fund to help realise our vision.

Architectural Heritage Fund
The Architectural Heritage Fund provided funding to support the initial work on the business plan, capital building works surveys and a two year membership to Fit for the Future which is an environmental sustainability network for charities, heritage organisations, cultural venues.

Cornwall Community Foundation
This project is part funded by the Tanner Phoenix Trust and the Emily Bolitho Fund, administered by Cornwall Community Foundation. These funds have allowed us to develop our sensory garden and to continue our creative art workshops for people living with mental health conditions. The workshops are led by local artists, Jane Darke and Andrew Tebbs, in partnership with the social prescribing team.

Cornwall Council
Cornwall Council has worked to enable us to use the building in Morrab Gardens, leasing it to us for a nominal rent.

Garfield Weston Foundation
Garfield Weston Foundation is a family founded grant-maker that gives money to support a wide range of charities across the UK. They awarded a grant to support costs for the building project and for our community engagement activities. We were delighted to received a grant of £30,000 from the Garfield Weston Foundation in 2024.

Penzance Council
Penzance Council gave a grant to match fund and support cash flow during the development period of the project.

Historic England
We were pleased to receive a grant of £16,315 from the Historic England Everyday Heritage programme to fund the Morrab Memories project which will collect memories of the gardens, fund heritage events and a creative schools project with Humphry Davy School and Pengarth Day Centre. The Everyday Heritage Grants are for projects that celebrate working class histories and the historic places that make up everyday life.
Our Community Partners
We will be working with a number of community groups, local support services and environmental activist organisations to help realise our vision.
