16 Days of Activism Penzance
November 25 9:00 am - December 10 4:00 pm
16 Days Penzance is a grassroots campaign group bringing our community together to help end violence against women and girls. Each year, they take part in the global 16 Days of Activism campaign – a UN Women initiative running from 25 November to 10 December. We aim to raise awareness, spark conversations, and create change, right here in Cornwall.
Together as a community, we are sending a strong, visible message: Penzance does not accept violence against women and girls.
Our events this year in support of 16 Days of Activism will be:
- Thursday 26 November – PZ Collage Club – A Cut ‘n’ Stick session with Tegan Howard, who will be running this special edition of PZ Collage Club at the Gardeners’ House from 5pm – 8pm
- Saturday 5 December – Tales of the Unexpected – Mary Ann Bloomfield, along with four members of The Knut Writing Group will be reading their ‘Tales of the Unexpected’ female-focused stories and poems from 12.15pm – 1.45pm at the Gardeners’ House
- Wednesday 9 December – Women’s Song Circle – Kelsey Michael from community folk choir Folktree will be hosting a 16 Days of Acticisum singing workshop at the Gardeners’ House from 10:30am – 12:00pm
You can book for all of these events via the 16 Days Penzance website.
